A glowing purple void crystal radiates energy in the sky above a rocky cliffside settlement, with an airship hovering nearby under a dark violet sky.

Celebrating the art of video games

A curated gallery of video game screenshots by Sébastien Marchal.

Screenshots from the gallery are shared on Mastodon twice a day.

About this website

Capture Gallery is a place for me to collect and share images captured over 20 years of playing video games — a simple, made-to-measure gallery that puts the entire focus on visuals.

Those visuals are mostly landscapes, or beautiful, serene environments that I couldn’t help but capture as I came across them. None of the screenshots show any violence, blood or gore of any kind. That would be a very different kind of gallery.

Screenshots were taken on Mac, Windows, PS4, PS4 Pro, and PS5, using no tools other than what was available in game.

I don’t actually spend all my time playing video games. I am also a musician, graphic designer and developer.

Accessibility

I endeavoured to make this website as accessible as possible and meet all WCAG 2.1 requirements. Alt text is obviously very important on a gallery website. I wish I could describe all images by hand, but with hundreds on the site that is unfortunately not possible. I use the OpenAI API to generate descriptions on demand from a careful prompt. I think the results are good, but I will continue to check for any issues and will address them as I find them.
